Frequently Asked Questions

How do I pay my ticket before my court date?  You can pay online, in person, or by mail.  See Bonds, Fines, and Tickets for full instructions.

What happens if I don't appear in court?  The court may try your case in your absence, suspend your driver's license, and issue a bench warrant.  See Court Case Information → Trials in Absence.

How do I get my license reinstated after a suspension?  Pay the fine set by the judge, then take the blue Form DL-53 to the SCDMV with the reinstatement fee.  See Court Case Information → Reinstating a Suspended License.

How do I appeal a judgment?  File a Notice of Appeal with both the Aiken County Clerk of Court and the North Augusta Municipal Court within 10 calendar days of sentencing.  See Court Case Information → Filing an Appeal.

How do I update my address with the court?  Notify the Municipal Court in writing, either in person or by mail.  See Court Case Information → Change of Address.

I was summoned for jury duty — how do I respond?  Complete the summons form and return it in the envelope provided.  See Jury Duty for disqualifications and exemptions.

Someone called saying I missed jury duty and owe a fine — is this real?  No.  Court officials never request payment or personal information by phone.  See Jury Duty → Scam Alert.
